Day Fourteen by Michael Roberts

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice.

When I was listening to a series of teachings on burdens and stuff we carry around I was confused about what we should do with those, i heard a lot about laying stuff at the cross and at Jesus’s feet, I heard a lot about repenting, I read a lot of good verses, but this one jumped out at me, practically slapped me in the face in a good way! I shared this with a dear friend of mine, and being the loving friend that he is asked me, “What is joice that we should do it again?”. I will never forget those words because I was completely clueless. I had no idea how to rejoice or joice, so I looked it up, the root meaning of joice is…to enjoy! So we are supposed to enjoy and enjoy again! This came at a time when all my circumstances were saying my Dad would die from surgery complications, but I was rejoicing! That was really hard to do, but I knew that I must, it is a conscious decision and continual effort. This goes against everything we seem to be taught. So here is why I made up my mind to rejoice, I blindly enjoyed, if things seemed impossible I could always enjoy knowing that Jesus died for me! God sent his Son to restore relationship with me, and whosoever believes in Him! My dad recovered leaving Doctors perplexed praise God!

Dear Lord,

Show me how to enjoy what you are doing no matter the circumstances! Thank you Lord for always providing enjoyment!
